Due to Hurricane Irma, our schedule has been a little disorganized but hopefully by next week we will be back on schedule. Just in time for Fall Break!!
We have been learning multiplication and division strategies in math and the students are finally starting to really catch on. Just a few reminders: Please do the homework packets each week, they are great review practice and reading comprehension activities. And of course READ READ READ!! We are tracking the Million Minute Challenge in our class so turn in the logs each month. Coming up- Look for information coming home regarding conferences and scheduling a time to meet. We have completed three weeks of school and we are on our way to understanding rules, procedures, and expectations.
We have started our Guided Reading and Guided Math center rotations in order for me to pull students individually and in small groups. UPDATES: We have a scheduled library time every other Monday. Students will also be allowed to go once in between our scheduled visits. I hope to encourage students to pick out just right books and keep them for at least a week. Homework has begun and you should be receiving homework packets. These are due on Friday. The Million Minute Challenge has begun. Look for the reading logs in the Tuesday folder this week! We had a great first week and I am so excited to have each and every student in our class. I can't wait to tell you all about our class at the Open House on August 10th at 6pm!
